Disease Related Malnutrition

As a result of a disease and its treatment, food intake is often reduced and the metabolism disturbed, which can lead to malnutrition. Disease-related malnutrition (DRM) has a strong influence on disease management and quality of life in patients and frail people. Two main determinants of DRM are insufficient protein and energy intake.
